Honoring the Past, Giving Back to the Community
Trinity Hall is where legacy meets reinvention. In Winterton, Newfoundland—a fishing outport of 500 people—St. Luke’s Anglican Church once marked life’s most sacred moments: baptisms, weddings, and farewells.
When the church closed and went up for sale in 2022, its future was uncertain. That summer, Greg Wells—whose family roots run deep in the community—gave it new life. He transformed it into Trinity Hall: a nonprofit performance venue, recording studio, and vibrant gathering place where music, art, and community come together.
Through Scilly Cove Records, Wells champions Newfoundland artists, donating his time, services, and royalties so every dollar raised flows back into the community that first filled those pews.
This remarkable transformation is captured by director Brad Tuck in Where Once They Stood We Stand: The Birth of Trinity Hall, now streaming on CBC Gem.
The price of $49 has historical significance, as the Dominion of Newfoundland officially joined Canada to become its tenth province on March 31, 1949.
Your purchase of the Trinity Hall plugin supports the community of Winterton in Newfoundland, and musicians young and old across Newfoundland and Labrador.
