Hot off the press, Bass Boutique is proud to present the ‘Trap and Bass Volume 1’ sample pack, compiled and curated by Smookie Illson. Formed in the fall of 2012, Smookie Illson is a US-based collaborative music project aimed at injecting the dance music scene with a distinct take on bass music. With a combined 30+ years of experience under their belts, the secretive trio churned out a string of 808-powered bootleg remixes and originals. Using social media to freely distribute the music – and with the backing of popular music blogs like Trap and Bass- they saw their creations find their way into the virtual crates of discerning bass heads worldwide.

In January 2013, their original track ‘Make It Clap’ was featured in Bro Safari’s mix on the ‘Diplo & Friends’ show on BBC Radio 1Xtra, while their ‘Club Action’ bootleg remix received support by many of the scene’s biggest names, including genre luminary Baauer.
